Cosplay & Crafting
I have worked on a variety of pieces for cosplay and events over the past few years, building my skills in sewing, pattern drafting, and 3D printing, and more.

Thanatos Tunic & Gauntlet
"Hades" (SuperGiant Games)
For Thanatos' tunic, I selected a color-shifting fabric to be the piece's focal point. The fabric's green-to-purple shift served as an homage to the game's cell-shaded art style.
For the garment's construction, I first sewed a base out of black spandex, then sewed the color-shift fabric onto the outside, adding extra length to this fabric in order help it drape nicely down the torso. I then finished the garment by hand-stitching a binding out of gold spandex around the top opening.
I also 3D modeled Thanatos' gauntlet. I designed and printed many iterations in order to experiment with both the proportions and how the gauntlet attached to the wearer.
With the game's unique character designs and art-style, re-creating pieces from it was a challenge that taught me a lot about mixing materials and focusing on how a silhouette reads.

Stolas Waistcoat & Shirt
"Helluva Boss" (Spindlehorse Studios)
The bold colors and clean design of Stolas' casual, victorian-themed outfit, inspired me to create my own version.
I wanted to make sure that my designs incorporated the cartoonish proportions that give Stolas his recognizable silhouette. Details like the long tails on the waistcoat and the shirt's exagurated bishop sleeves were included to help ground my look in the show's style.
For my materials, I needed to find fabrics that were both lightweight and boldly colored. Thin, shiney satin worked really well for standing out, and for staying cool in the Atlanta heat.
The character sits right on the line between serious and silly, and I feel that this particular look of his is a great incapsulation of that balance.

Fantasy Faun Tail & Antlers
Original Design
In preparation for a "Fantasy Ball" I was attending, I made a belt-worn tail to complete my fantasy faun look.
I wanted to create a fun accessory to help sell the character's identity and help me emerse into the evening. I designed a pattern that encorporated darts on the underside in order to add structure to help balance the soft, rounded top.
The faux fur is upcycled from a thrifted seat cushion and filled with synthetic pillow stuffing. After stuffing it, I sewed the tail closed and hand-sewed the elastic belt loop onto the base.
For the same character, I've also been working on 3D printing antlers that I could wear with prosthetic adhesive. I love the shapes I've come up with and am excited to continue refining them.

Renaissance Fair Pants
Original Design
To complete an outfit for an upcoming Renaissance Fair, I designed a pair of pants inspired by 16th Century Landsknecht fashion.
For the signature blooming pannels in the Landsknecht pant, I wanted to use a bold, contrasting color in order to better highlight the feature.
After confirming my standard pants measurements, I cut diamond shaped panels of the secondary fabric to sew into the outside of each leg.
I finished the pants by adding belt loops and sewing a belt out of the secondary fabric. I love the added color it gives the final look, as well the way it helps cinch the waist.

"Vash the Stampede" Jacket
"Trigun Stampede" (Studio Orange)
This is my variation of Vash the Stampede's iconic jacket from the 2023 reboot of Trigun.
The jacket is made from neoprene and the inside lining is a light-weight spandex. I also added sewable boning to the placket, collar, and hood of the jacket to give them more structure and help them better resemble the original design.
I chose to create a cropped version of the original full-length coat. Because the event I was making this for would require me to wear it for an extended time in warm weather, I prioritized a design that would be lighter and more breathable.
I'm very proud of how it turned out, wearing it to the event went wonderfully. Getting to share my work while seeing the creative ways that other makers interpreted the character was a great experience.

Upcycled Gym Bag
Original Design
After joining a new volleyball league, I was inspired to create my own gym bag that would perfectly fit my gear.
For months I would regularly buy used items from local thrift stores, slowly collecting fabric in a wide variety of materials.
The final bag is made of fabric from three different jackets; a thick, synthetic wool for the bottom, and soft fleece for the top. I added nylon webbing to reinforce the sides and serve as carrying straps. And finally, I sewed on a large, #20 size zipper for the bag's closure.
I loved using this bag to experiment with mixing colors and textures, and I love the striking contrast they give the finished bag.
